Focus of unit: What Makes a Good citizen, and the various ways citizens can take action and change their community.

Learning Objectives:
1) To consider what makes a good citizen (Skills of enquiry)
2) To understand some of the different ways citizens can bring about change in their communities (Knowledge and understanding)
3) To empower students with skills to take action in their own communities (skills of active engagement)
4) To understand why voting is important to a representative democracy.

This Lesson Plan has the following objectives:  To learn about the Single Market and  To learn about the Euro

 LEARNING OUTCOMES
 To consider what the European Union means to me
 To be able to argue another persons view on the pro's or con's of Britain's membership of the Single Market

This new scheme of work addresses identity and diversity. There are four Citizenship lessons which look at immigration, discrimination and racism and the new citizenship tests. These are linked to 2 RE lessons on religious dress and harmony.
